Baked with Grace

Nestled within the heart of the community, Baked with Grace stands as a testament to one woman’s passion and perseverance. Meet Kayla Ellerbe, the creative force behind the beloved bakery known for its individual sweet treats and pup cakes.

The Spark of a Dream

Kayla’s journey to entrepreneurship began during her college years when she worked in a bakery and dreamed of one day owning her own. It wasn’t until a pivotal moment in church that the pastor’s words ignited a fire within her. “Seek first the kingdom of God, and all else will follow,” he said. From that moment, Kayla embarked on a journey to bring her bakery dreams to life.

Overcoming Challenges with Faith

With a vision fueled by faith and determination, Kayla set out to make Baked with Grace a reality. However, as a startup, she faced the daunting challenge of securing capital. That’s when she discovered Carolina Community Impact (CCI) through the SBA website—a beacon of hope in her quest for funding.

What set Carolina Community Impact (CCI) apart for Kayla was their unwavering support and accessibility. “CCI was the only CDFI I found that did not require upfront collateral,” Kayla recalls. Working closely with Roxanne, she navigated the loan process with ease, receiving financial assistance and invaluable guidance every step of the way.

Support from Carolina Community Impact (CCI)

From a Microloan to a second loan for unexpected construction repairs, Kayla found comfort in knowing that Carolina Community Impact (CCI) had her back. “Diane has sent resources after my closing,” Kayla shares, “and I know CCI is there for all and any questions I may have beyond closing.”

Reflecting on the Journey

Today, as the proud owner of Baked with Grace, Kayla reflects on her journey with gratitude. “The process was quick and easy,” she affirms. “Rox was helpful in leading me throughout, with personability beyond a business deal.” For Kayla, Carolina Community Impact (CCI) was more than just a financial institution—it was a partner in her success.

As she continues to delight customers with her delectable treats, Kayla is grateful for Carolina Community Impact’s (CCI) role in turning her dream into reality. With heartfelt sincerity, she recommends Carolina Community Impact (CCI) to others, knowing firsthand the difference it can make in shaping the destiny of aspiring entrepreneurs.
